J. Bruce King began his surveying career in 1996 while pursuing his major in economics at the University of South Carolina. During this time, he realized his future lay in the surveying industry and sought additional experience and education in surveying and mapping necessary for a career in this field.
In 2003, Mr. King became a licensed Professional Land Surveyor in the state of South Carolina and, later, North Carolina in 2010.
Throughout his 25-year career, Mr. King has worked his way up through the management ranks of two regional engineering and surveying firms, most recently serving nine years as principal and surveyor in charge for one.
Mr. King has worked on some of the most notable projects in the Charleston area, including 2009’s Boeing 787 Expansion project and 2015’s Volvo Car Plant project. Mr. King held a seat on the Education Committee for the South Carolina Society of Professional Land Surveyors for six years during this time.
As a small business owner with big business know-how, JBK’s advantage is in his experience. Mr. King leverages this knowledge on projects of all sizes while remaining focused on what matters most - the individual behind them.
Mr. King resides in Mount Pleasant with his wife and three daughters, where he spends weekends at family sporting events or in the great outdoors.
